The Crayola Factory Field Trip - in Easton,PA

A couple of weeks ago, P's kindergarten class along with the other three kindergarten classes, took a field trip to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. It is about and 1 hour and 15 min bus ride. P was talking about it for weeks and was very excited about it. Just the fact that they got to ride on a bus was a big deal since our schools don't bus the kids because we all live within 2 miles of the school. I was a little bit worried that once we got there it might be a little crazy because we have been there as a family before and I knew it was a pretty busy place. It ended up being a great day. P was in his heaven - coloring, painting, and crafting away! I got assigned P and his friend Miles for the day and this is them on the bus ready to go!

P looking through the glasses he drew on the glass. He is so clever!

Six Stitches for H

I had my first trip (pretty good for 9 years worth of boys) to the ER last week. H was playing in the basement with P and I was putting the groceries away, when I heard a thud and crying. I knew it was H and I was not too alarmed because this is a regular occurrence in our house with three crazy boys. After a few moments I went to see what happened. H had hit his forehead on the back corner of our cheap IKEA couch that is basically wood covered with fabric. He was not bleeding bad but big drops were coming out and I could see all the tissue and it was split wide open, it was pretty gross. I got H stable and then finished putting the groceries away, got activities and snacks for P and H and took off for the ER. H was a trooper he got 6 stitches and he didn't even cry. He just winced and told the Dr that it hurt and to "stop it." He got them out this week and it is looking pretty good so far. We are hoping that it won't scar too bad, but we'll see.

B's First Official Pinewood Derby!

Last Friday was the big Pinewood Derby for our stake. B has been waiting for this day since he started scouts last October, so we were all excited when the day finally had come. He chose everything about his car- shape, color, & decals. He had a lot of fun making it and was confident it would kill the competition. When it came to race time it didn't exactly do that. His car did all right but it didn't win. B didn't care though he just loved the whole experience and had fun cheering his friends cars on when his was out. That is one of the things I have to say that I love about B the most. He is so laid back about things like that. He loves to win but when it doesn't happen he doesn't get upset he just takes his "Best Use of Color" award and runs with it! Great job B!

Foster Fields Farm - Morristown NJ

This past week I took the boys to Foster Fields Farm with some friends. It is a living farm so the kids learn a lot too. The people that run it are very nice and love to answer any questions about the animals and farm. H could not get enough of it. It was really fun because all the animals had just had their babies. I know the pic of the pigs isn't that great but they were definitely the highlight! They were so cute and the kids sat and watched them for a long time. It was a beautiful day and H can't wait to go back he has talked about it every day since!

New Hampshire Getaway!

The kids had spring break last week so we headed to New Hampshire with our friends the Archibald's and the Bench's. We went for the weekend and we had a blast. We stayed at the Archibald's lake house in Wolfeboro. It sits right on Lake Winnepasakee. We had great weather the whole weekend. We played baseball, rode e-bikes, played basketball, went jogging, watched movies and just hung out. All the kids had a great time as well and spent a lot of time on the beach playing and digging in the sand. We appreciate the hospitality of the Archibald's thanks guys!

Gotta love the Jersey Shore!

We decided that we would head to the shore for the boys last day of spring break. They all had a great time, the water was cold but the weather was great and they couldn't get enough of those sand crabs! I love being 1 hour away from the best day ever!
