For the Love of the Game

Well even though our boys are still relatively young we are already seeing how busy our lives are going to be with sports. With them all in a sport and of course never on the same day we eat, sleep, and breathe football, and soccer. It was so much fun and even though it has been crazy busy I have to admit I am going to miss it a tiny bit through the winter, but just a tiny bit. It is so much fun to go watch them and see how much they have progressed since the begining of the season. The first set of pics are of Braxton. This was his first year in Full Pads. It was serious business. They had practice three time a week each 1 1/2-2 hours long plus a game. Before every game they had weigh-ins and everything. They played their games at night and under the lights. It was pretty cool. Although I have to say I was pretty nervous for Braxton each week because he weighs about 65 lbs and the weight limit was 101 lbs. So a good majority of the boys were a lot bigger than him. He was a little nervous about getting tackled at the begining of the season but is pretty into it now. He has improved a lot this year and I can't believe how much stronger he is too. Our little boy is growing up.

Porter played his second season of flag football this year. He loved it! He got into it a lot more this year and you could tell he was understanding the plays more. Mike was his head coach and Porter loved that. These are just a few pictures from their last game of the season. The little boy in the pic with Porter is his friend from across the street. The last couple are some action photos. He is #24 and their team name was the GIANTS.

Hudson is playing soccer this year and can I tell you how much he LOVES it! He eats, sleeps, and plays soccer all day. He takes his soccer ball most places we go. He is on the same team as a couple of our neighbors so he loves that too. They have practice once a week and that is it, no games or anything and they have learned so much. The coach is great and the kids love him. He is Irish and I love listening to him talk its great. This weeek is Hudsons last for soccer so I am hoping we can find him something else that he will like for the winter maybe indoor soccer!

Father and Sons Campout 2008

Here are just a few pics from the ward Father and Sons campout this year. The boys had a really goot time. They look forward to it every year. It was Hudsons first year going and he was thrilled!! Last year when they left without him he was pretty ticked, he hates if they all leave without him. We are all glad he is getting old enough to be part of the group. They went to a campground that was just 30 min away. They roasted hotdogs, made smores, slept in a tent, and explored with their friends what more could you ask for!!!!!

First Day of School!

This is Hudson on his first day of Preschool. He was so excited he couldn't stand it. The two older boys had started two weeks earlier so he was more than ready. He was such a cheeseball during these pictures, I only put a few but there are many with that cheesy grin in the last one . In the middle pic he wanted to make sure you saw his backpack.

This was Braxton and Porters first day of school. They were so excited!! It was kind of a big deal for Port because he is in first grade this year and he got to take lunch to school.

Memorial Day 2008- Jersey Shore

This memorial day we got up early and headed to the Jersey shore. We had great weather and the kids had fun in the water, building sand castles, and digging for sand crabs.

Porter turned 6!!!!!

At the end of August Porter turned 6. He wanted to have a Star Wars themed party and cake. So he invited some of his friends and we had pizza, cake and ice cream and then it was off to the Funplex. The Funplex is a huge place with bumper cars, video games, foam frenzie, go carts, and many other things. They all had a great time and it was the perfect way to end the summer!

Hudson is a Big Boy!!!

This August right after we got back from our Utah/Idaho trip Hudson decided he was ready to be a big boy. He was starting preschool in September so it was time for POTTY TRAINING!!! We went to the store bought him some big boy underwear and some "potty treats." We pulled out Porters little potty (which I am totally against usually because who wants to clean that out 10 times a day), but hey whatever works! So when he woke up Monday morning he put on the underwear and had 4 pee accidents and from that point on decided the toilet was a better idea. Three weeks later he was going every time on the big potty. It was amazing!! I couldn't believe how quickly he caught on, my other kids were not so quick so I was thoroughly pleased. Also the week before we had put Hudsons crib away. As you can see he loved his new bed and was very pleased to be like his older brothers. We now have them all in their own bedrooms and I have to say bedtime is a little piece of heaven!!!

Summer trip to Boise

We went to Boise this summer for a couple of weeks and had a great time. We did a lot of fun things, swimming, golfing, fishing, family pictures, and quality time with cousins, grandparents, and friends. Here are some of the highlights- Thanks Mom and Dad!!!!!

This is all of us down at the Saturday Market in downtown Boise. We went there to see my sister in laws dance group perform and then enjoyed all the other festivities it had to offer, crafting, food tasting, and performances.

This is my brother Gregg's new home. It is every kids dream, it on 10 acres so the boys and their cousins as you can see had a great time. They swam, played in their yard, investigated the chicken coop and checked out the forts they are building next to the pond. Needless to say we had to drag them home. It was Gregg's birthday so Kami his wife had us all out for a party, with dinner, desert and fun. We had a great time and we all can't wait to do it again. Thanks Gregg and Kami!

While were in town we had some old and not so old friends from NJ, the Hillams and the Franks that now live in Boise over for barbaque and swimming. We had a great time catching up and the kids had a great time swimming and playing with their old friends.

One of the big highlights of the trip for me was going fishing with my dad. We went the night before and got my fishing license and then got up early the next morning made our lunch and took off. We first stopped and did a little fly fishing on the north fork of the Payette River. We each caught a couple and then headed to our final destination Horse Theif Resevoir. We just fished off the bank but we caught our limit of 6 fish each. It was fun to spend some one on one time with my dad doing something we both love. The weather was great, the lake was beautiful, and the company was priceless. Thanks for taking me Dad!

Mike and my dad on their annual golf outing

All the adults went to PF Chang's for dinner one night it was soooo Yummy!

The boys at Albertson's park one day.

The boys always look forward to going fishing with Grandpa Wilson and this trip was no exception! They had enough time to squeeze in two fishing trips. They have this neat little spot that the boys love because every time they throw their line in they get a fish within maybe 30 seconds. They had a great time and I think Grandpa did too!
